Riddle me this:

Can anyone explain to me why tumblr has such a high population of teens [young adults] who think hickies are a good thing?  And is there a correlation between those and all of the cutting?  I’m not even trying to be an old fart asshole asking this.  I’m genuinely curious.
I have always been around “counter culture people” and fifteen years ago, eighteen year olds didn’t show off their cuts (because it was a very, very private thing- one reason that people assume your posting photos of self-harm on tumblr is for attention- I seriously have to stop following people who constantly post this shit because it’s really unhealthy for me to see as a mentally ill person), and you sure as hell didn’t want people seeing hickies on your body- seriously, it’s tacky, and that’s not just because I’m old- one experience wearing turtlenecks for a week straight was enough for me. 
I mean, do none of these kids have jobs?
