When I worked for Bank of America, they were in the top fifteen of the Fortune 500. They paid me $12/hour with office management experience. The benefits were okay, but not really anything to write home about. BoA was also, hands down, the most stressful job I’ve ever had. I drove home crying from stress and depression nearly every day. Now I work for a startup that no one has heard of, and I’m being paid almost three times that. Neither job required a degree, and while my current position isn’t an entry-level job, it’s far from upper management. There’s absolutely no reason that tellers should be expected to be the face of Bank of America and still qualify for food stamps.
